SDSU engineering students help Marine vet get back on a bike

Marine veteran Josh Doyle hadn’t been able to pedal a bicycle since suffering a leg injury during deployment to Iraq in 2003.

That changed after connecting with a team of San Diego State mechanical engineering seniors through Project S.E.R.V.E., who set out to design a custom adaptive e-bike solution tailored to his mobility needs.

What began as a senior design project quickly became something much more personal; for both Josh and the students involved.
