Engineering students turn ideas into impact at Senior Design Day

At San Diego State University, engineering goes beyond the classroom.

This spring, Senior Design Day will showcase nearly 100 student projects shaped by months of hands-on problem solving, collaboration, and innovation. Hosted by SDSU’s College of Engineering on May 6, the event highlights solutions focused on accessibility, public safety, environmental challenges, and more.

Among them is a Project S.E.R.V.E. collaboration in which mechanical engineering students partnered with a disabled U.S. veteran to develop a custom adaptive cycling solution, allowing him to ride a bicycle again for the first time in 22 years.
