CU Boulder students design leg sleeve for Team USA para-athletes

A team of engineering students at the University of Colorado Boulder created a leg sleeve device designed to help para-athletes on Team USA, a novel design that they will debut at Project S.E.R.V.E.’s Natiaion Design Competition in April at Virginia Tech.

CU Boulder and 11 other universities are competing to create the best warming sleeve for winter para-athletes, for whom extreme cold is a major safety and performance issue. The CU Boulder team, called team BuffaloHIDE, consists of seven seniors studying biomedical engineering.
